Woodbury Corporation and Ivory Homes to Host Public Outreach Events After Holladay City Council Approves Cottonwood Mall Redevelopment Plans

SALT LAKE CITY (June 4, 2018) – Woodbury Corporation, a full-service real estate development and management company, and partner Ivory Homes, Utah’s Number One Homebuilder™, today announced a series of public events designed to give Holladay residents a continued opportunity to share input and ideas regarding the redevelopment of the former Cottonwood Mall site.

Woodbury Corporation and Ivory Homes, who have partnered to redevelop the 56-acre site of the former mall, which closed in 2008, worked closely with the community and city officials to create renovation plans. This includes more than 30 public meetings and community outreach events. As a result of these collaborative efforts, the Holladay City Council and the mayor voted unanimously to approve these initial plans in May 2018.

“This has been by far a team that has received communication from the planning commission, city council, and the public, and taken it to heart and listened to it,” said Sabrina Peterson, city council member representing District One, on public record May 17, 2018, when she voted in favor of the plan.

As the development moves forward, Woodbury Corporation and Ivory Homes are committed to keeping the Holladay community involved in the process and invite residents to attend a series of public events, including:

The recently approved plans for the Cottonwood Mall mixed-use redevelopment neighborhood incorporates residential, commercial and open community spaces. Features include:

  • A combination of single-family homes, brownstones, and luxury condos
  • Restaurants and retail shops
  • Class A office space
  • 19 acres of open space
  • A 1.2-mile public walking trail around the perimeter of the development

Additionally, estimates show that upon completion, the redevelopment of the former Cottonwood Mall site will increase city revenues by an estimated 25 percent, and that neighboring businesses will also experience meaningful increases in sales.

“This exciting redevelopment will benefit Holladay in many ways,” said Jeff Woodbury, senior vice president of development and acquisition at Woodbury Corporation. “The new stores and restaurants we will bring in, as well as the community gathering spaces, will infuse new energy to the area while maintaining the inherent charm of the city.”
